A My Spilt Milk Christmas 2014
A downloadable Christmas playlist to get you in the mood for the season.
It has long been my contention that most people who dislike Christmas music do so because they've had the same songs be the soundtrack to their holidays for way too long. With that in mind, My Spilt Milk will widen the variety of music at your disposal during the season. The classics are classic for a reason, but that doesn't mean all the good Christmas songs were written by 1965.
We'll start the Christmas season with "A My Spilt Milk Christmas 2014," a downloadable mix of Christmas music. Some of it is sentimental, some of it is ironic, some of it is antique, and some of it is contemporary. New Orleans is represented with new Christmas music from Debbie Davis and Matt Perrine, old music from Huey "Piano" Smith and Rockin' Sidney, blues from Olga, and bounce tracks from BlaqNMild with Sess 4-5, and Joseph Baptiste with Kourtney Heart. Some tracks started life on wax cylinders, while some of the newer tracks only exist digitally. All of it is remarkable in one way or another though, and that's the main thing.
