Scrim Has a Bobblehead

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum commemorated New Orleans’ favorite runaway pup with its own bobblehead.

Last weekend, Scrim was as much a part of Mardi Gras as he has been a part of New Orleans’ public life in recent months. The Krewe du Vieux gave out Scrim Bingo cards as parade goers had to find Scrim; and one float in the ‘tit Rex Parade depicted Scrim’s legendary escape from the second floor of the house.. In the float’s depiction, he didn’t simply jump down. He revved up his Harley and drove it off the porch like the renegade he is.

Today, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum has made Scrim its first animal honoree by making a Scrim bobblehead. The NBHOF not only creates bobbleheads to honor famous athletes, musicians and politicians, but it has ones that commemorate moments—the fly that landed on Mike Pence’s head during a debate, Caitlin Clark being drafted to the WNBA, and Donald Trump after being shot in the ear. This Scrim bobblehead similarly rides the meme zeitgeist

Ten percent of the proceeds from every Scrim bobblehead sold will go to Zeus’ Rescues the animal care non-profit in New Orleans that has been part of the Scrim story from the start.

“We’re excited to unveil the first bobblehead featuring Scrim, New Orleans’ favorite runaway pup,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said in a press release. “This bobblehead will be the perfect way for fans of Scrim to show off their love and support for the elusive rescue dog!”

By the end of Carnival, I suspect we’ll all have Scrim-related throws as well, but America’s favorite four-legged runaway will live on in bobblehead glory.
